   Motor bikes

If you’ve ever been in a motor bike crash or know someone who has, you understand the important role that motor bike helmets, motor bike clothing and specific motor bike accessories can play in saving lives. A motor bike accident can change a person’s life forever; as well as those around them.

Those who make a living from motor bike racing know the risks and, many as young children, learned how to ride a motor bike the right way. Usually beginning with a used motor bike, these professionals tell stories of how their cheap motor bike taught them about motor bike parts, responsible riding and how to off road with their motor bike. Some say the “coolest part was wearing my motor bike boots and walking like a cowboy”. Now, as older participants in a sport that has struggled to be recognized as a sport at all, these professionals are attracting kids of all ages to the fast-paced, exciting world of motor bike riding.

With 500cc’s under their belts and a mixture of asphalt and dirt, the motor bike racers morphed from independent dirt track, road and motocross into the super motorcycle sport we know and love today. In the early 1980’s, Europe began to show interest in the sport and, from 1982 until 1990, the European motocross sport was more popular than it was in its country of origin…the United States.

Today, there is an AMA National Series that travels across the country with the popularity of any other sport you could imagine. Having a rough start, the circuit is here to stay. As part of the X-Games, the finality with which the sport has succeeded is inspiring to say the least.

For those who follow the sport, many are motor bike riders themselves. Once in a while, a rider will feel himself “invincible” and ride without a helmet, take “just a short trip” somewhere only to wish later the motor bike accessories of proper clothing and a helmet had been put on. There are hundreds of motorcycle accidents in each on our countries highways and roadways. Some are killed, but more are dismembered, paralyzed or worse. For anyone who chooses to ride a motor bike, take the time to show your friends and loved ones that you care enough to do things the right way. You’ll appreciate the concern and they’ll appreciate the fact that you’ll be around.

Some feel that the individuals who ride motor bikes are hard, insensitive people who thrive on their “scare factor” in public places. This is not the case at all. Most motor bike riding groups not only form deep bonds of friendship, but pass this sincerity on to those charitable organizations around them. Taking a special interest in children, most of these clubs ride for charity, donating their time and resources to the relief of children with cancers, those without appropriate clothing or toys during certain seasons and even to supply that special child with a ride of their own on the back of a motor bike. Never will you find anywhere a group of people so dedicated to one another and to the betterment of others through gifts of time.
